CHRIST CHURCH BELLS CORNERS
CLERGY & STAFF
The Venerable Monique Stone
Rector
Monique joined Christ Church Bells Corners in January 2024 and is enthusiastic about working together with newcomers, guests, and long-standing parishioners to ensure that our parish is a spiritual community that welcomes all.
“As a priest, I can think of no better time to part of God’s church. There are exciting days ahead for our diocese, our parishes, and the Anglican tradition as a whole. Yes, the future will surely look different than the past. Undoubtably transformation will not always be easy. Yet, we can be assured of God’s presence in all that we do and look with hope and excitement as God calls us in to that future. It is my prayer that our community works together with commitment, compassion, dedication, joy and laughter along the way to ensure that the love and compassion that Jesus offers is shared with all.”
Monique is a recognized ordained leader in the Diocese in the area of Strategic Planning, Sustainability, and Community Development challenges & opportunities. She has brought to her ordained vocation vast experience as a change management and community engagement specialist in the areas of environmental & social sustainability and planning & development. Monique has held a variety of leadership roles in our diocese and for the National Church of Canada. Her published work includes articles in Geez Magazine, The Community, and the Anglican Communion’s International Anglican Family Network Publication. She became a Byron Fellow in 2015 (an interdisciplinary sustainability leadership program out of Warren Wilson College in North Carolina) and a Re:Generate Fellow in 2016 (an ecological vocation and religious leadership program out of Wake Forest University School of Divinity). She has a particular interest in the mystic, Julian of Norwich, and completed a pilgrimage to Julian’s shrine in Norwich, England in May 2023.
Monique is married to Chris and they have two adult children, Lily and Rory. In her spare time she can be found riding a horse named Max, gardening, and caring for the family pets (two dogs, one cat, and a budgie).

Megan Sproule-Jones
Director of Children's Ministries
Megan and her children, Julia and Mark, have been attending CCBC since the fall of 2011, having moved back to Ottawa after six years in Sudbury. Megan first researched Anglican parishes online, trying out CCBC initially because of the location close to their Arlington Woods home, but more importantly, because of the extensive children’s ministries described on our website.
Megan, who has taught in and coordinated church schools previously, has been part of the CCBC teaching team since her second year here. She has also served as a Synod delegate and on the Food Truck Rally team.
Megan works full-time managing and editing the bilingual research journal and other publications of the Canadian Dental Hygienists Association, and occasionally does freelance editing and indexing work from home. She enjoys cooking, baking, and gardening, and has recently taken up curling. Something you may not know about her is that before her marriage, she spent a year living in France, teaching English in a Paris high school—a life-changing adventure!
Looking ahead, Megan hopes to implement additional programs for 11- to 13-year-olds, and to enhance intergenerational learning experiences. She also intends to continue with the excellent programs already in place, to provide continuity and stability. Church School is a team effort,” says Megan, “and I want everyone to know that their talents and skills are welcome, anytime, for a one-time visit, or as an ongoing contribution.”
